Murang’a County set to use drones in fight against illicit brews

Murang'a County is set to use drones in its fight against illicit brews along Chania River.

County commissioner Mohammed Barre launched the first drone that will patrol the river banks to help police arrest the merchants of death.

The move comes after the return of gangs that had brewed the illicit brews in the central region before security agents used explosives to destroy the dens used for illegal activities.

"Information from the device will be acted upon to ensure the culprits are arrested," said the county administrator.

Most illicit brews sold in Nairobi, Muranga and Kiambu are said to have been prepared along the banks of River Chania.
