An MP has slammed the county for failure to remit health workers' allowances, which has led to seven strikes since 2014.

Chuka/Igambang'ombe MP Muthomi Njuki asked the health department to end the crisis with the health workers to ensure normalcy returns to public hospitals after a one week strike.

Addressing the striking nurses at Chuka sub-county Hospital, he said it was a criminal offence to deduct money from workers' pay and fail to remit the same to the National Hospital Insurance Fund, the National Social Security Fund and other relevant authorities.
