Taxpayers to lose Sh2.5b as KRA terminates Swiss firm contract

A decision by Kenya Revenue Authority to advertise for a fresh tender for the provision of multi-billion excise duty stamps could see taxpayers lose Sh2.5 billion.

Consequently, MPs now want the KRA to explain the hasty decision for the re-advertisement of the tender as opposed to sticking with the current provider and buying the stamps at half the current price from July 2024.
