HP East Africa winds up voluntarily

NAIROBI, KENYA: Hewlett Packard is folding up its East African business following a special resolution at an extraordinary general meeting held early this month.

In a notice, the IT Company said George Were and Muniu Thoithi have been appointed joint liquidators to wind up.
The announcement sets the stage for creditors of the company to send full particulars of all the claims they may have against the firm on or before October 9 this year.

“Creditors of the company are required to send full particulars of all the claims they may have against the company to the undersigned, the joint liquidators of the company and if so required, by notice in writing from the joint liquidators, personally or by his advocates, to come and prove their debts set out in such notice, or in default thereof, they may be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved.”

In a newspaper notice, the company said the liquidation will not affect the operations of any other entity that was affiliated to Hewlett Packard East Africa.
