Kenyan shilling strengthens due to reduced political risk

The Kenyan shilling strengthened against the dollar on Friday over receding political risk and increased hard currency inflows, traders said.

At 0741 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 102.95/103.15 per dollar compared with 103.00/20 at Thursday's close.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was sworn into office for a second term on Tuesday after a prolonged election.
