Youth and Gender Affairs CS calls on private sector to fund youth business

The MasterCard Foundation will be funding enterprises ran by youths to the tune of Sh1.6 billion around the country.

The funding will be carried out in partnership with CAP Youth Empowerment Institute (CAP YEI), which is an organisation that trains and seeks funding for youths around the country.

While overseeing the unveiling of the plan, Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki said, “It is time the private sector supported public service to help our youth get jobs by offering them skills that make them employable through trainings such as the one carried out by CAPYEI. We in the ministry have the Uwezo fund and the youth fund, but this is not enough.”
