New Renault model enters Kenya’s market

Simba Corporation Ltd has joined the race for the small car market by launching a new model called the Renault KWID.

The car seller wants to take a piece of the market currently dominated by second-hand vehicle. The brand new KWID will retail at Sh1.2 million.

Simba corporation will also be leasing the vehicle, charging Sh1,000 a day for those who want to drive around. The KWID has a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) inspired design, and an 800cc three-cylinder petrol engine.

It also boasts a fuel efficiency of up to 25.17 kilometres per litre, and comes with a three year warranty.

“Kenyans are used to second hand vehicles from Japan, that’s why we have decided to launch this model which is cheap and can also be leased out,” Simba Corp Chief Commercial Officer Paul Chaggar said Thursday during the unveiling at the Ngong racecourse.
