A Sh230 million water project in Siakago will be completed after a row was resolved.

Area MP Lenny Kivuti said some politicians had incited farmers whose land the water pipeline was to be laid.

"As a result, even after having completed two thirds of laying pipes, this water project stalled completely," he said.

Kivuti told his constituents the stalemate had been resolved and work was expected to resume immediately.

Speaking at Kanyuambora market, the legislator said a major water project that would cost Sh2.6 billion to serve the entire constituency was under way.

"I am optimistic by the time we go for the next General Election, at least phase one will have been completed," said Kivuti.

He disclosed that all markets, secondary schools and other public amenities had been supplied with electricity.

He asked residents wishing to have their homes supplied with power to team up to reduce the cost of installation.

Kivuti also told his constituents to read and understand the implications of the new Constitution.

He said since the Mbeere community had been grouped into the Embu County, the two must accommodate one another and work to implement the new laws.
