Kajiado to host major investment expo

Kajiado County is set to host a major investment and homes exhibition to show case the economic potential of the area.

The three exhibitions, dubbed Kitengela Investors and Homes Expo will commence on Madaraka Day (June 1) and will be sponsored by the Kenya Power, East African Portland Cement and Housing Finance.

The Director of the expo, Mr Alex Muema Muthengi said more than 40 exhibitors, among them Equity Bank, Standard Chartered and Rafiki Micro Finance Deposit taking Institution will participate.

“Kitengela and indeed Kajiado County has some of the best investment facilities in Kenya. These are not limited to horticulture and flower firms”, Muthengi said.

He said during the expo, potential developers will discuss financing with various financial institutions to ensure that those interested in investing in real estate get an opportunity to do so without hindrance.

“All counties in Kenya should be able to attract new investors if they are to finance their operations. Whatever allocations from the Central Government will be supplementary to the innovations of the various County Governments”, Muthengi said.

He was speaking during a meeting with the participants at a Kitengela Resort on Wednesday.

Kajiado County hosts tourist facilities such as the Ostrich Farm. Currently, all the major Commercial banks have opened outlets at Kitengela.

Among the exhibitors are Ndatani Enterprises, Yukos Investments, City and County Management and the East African University.
