Thousands turn up for Musa’s final farewell

Rumba maestro Musa Juma was given a heroic send off as thousands of mourners turned out for his burial in Siaya District.

Fans, friends, musicians, politicians and people from all walks of life came in their numbers to bury the musician, Saturday.

An air of gloom engulfed Lunyu village, Siaya County as an estimated 3,000 mourners from different parts of the country poured into the home.

Fans from as far as Uganda led by Vincent Ondiff, former MPs Gor Sunguh, Raphael Wanjala, Otieno Karan, and Siaya County Council chairman Aggrey Onyango led the mourners in paying tribute to the Benga musician.

Speakers described Juma as inspiration to upcoming musicians. Wanjala called on local musicians to emulate Juma, who he said was a disciplined musician, if they wanted to remain relevant in the music industry.

Over 20 Benga musicians from Nyanza also joined the mourners to say the final farewell to the maestro who died three weeks ago.
