A woman asking for directions was gang-raped by street boys in Nakuru town.

Good Samaritans found the woman, 28, unconscious outside the Nakuru Wholesale market, and took her to the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital Tuesday morning.

Police Commander Johnston Ipara said the woman arrived at the bus stop at 7pm and since she did not know where to board town service vehicles, she sought the help of the street boys.

“She had come to visit her relatives here, but she did not know which matatu to take to,” he said.

Mr Ipara said the street boys took advantage and led her to the market where they raped her in turns.

“The woman was found lying outside the market by traders who rushed her to hospital, where she was treated and discharged,” he said.

When the news of the attack emerged, matatu operators at the bus termini rounded up some street families and beat them senseless.

“Two sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital where they were admitted, two others were frog-marched to the police station where we are holding them,” said the OCPD.
