Bribe soliciting policemen charged

Three traffic police officers caught on camera taking bribes from motorists in Konoin District have been charged.

The three faced charges of soliciting bribes from matatu operators in Kericho. Constables Richard Arika, Priscah Cherop and Elias Nyagah denied the charges when they appeared before Kericho Senior Principal Magistrate Walter Nyarima. The officers based at Bureti Police Station were charged jointly with four counts of soliciting bribes from the matatu operators at Boito Road block along the Litein-Mogogosiek road in Konoin District. Officers from the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission arrested them.
