It was pomp and glamour when gospel crooner Emmy Kosgey launched her album dubbed Taunet Nelel at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Nairobi, on Sunday.

People tuned up in large numbers for the much-anticipated event that saw dignitaries, prominent business people, religious leaders, gospel musicians and fans from all age groups who came to support the cause.

Emmy’s father the Reverend Kosgey Jackson and her mother Rose, were not left behind.

Amid cheers, the tall beautiful Kalenjin lady who donned a flowing strapless silk dress, headgear and traditional bracelet, backed by her group of ten, churned out hit songs like Hossana and Toror Jehova Nenyon (Jesus is above all).

Some of the songs performed were from her latest DVD/CD Taunet Nelel. They ranged from Taunet Nelel, Ongeureren and Ategisin among others. Among those who presided over the event include Bishop Obonyo and her father Rev Kosgey.

In a short prayer the two thanked God for her talent.
