New GSU chief picked as Iteere draws line-up

General Service Unit Commandant has been appointed in the first shuffle that affects eight senior officers.

Commissioner of Police Mathew Iteere on Tuesday appointed the Commandant of Anti-Stock Theft Unit (Astu) William Saiya to head GSU.

The Chief Firearms Licensing Officer Abdul Mzee was named the PPO North Eastern Province to replace Mr Jonathan Koskei who was promoted and posted to police headquarters as the Director of Reforms.

Mr Levi Mwandi was moved from the Logistics Department to succeed Mr Mzee. Mr Iteere also moved Nairobi Area PPO Njue Njagi to Nyanza to replace Mr Antony Kibuchi who comes to Nairobi.

Astu Deputy Commandant Remmy Ngugi was named Saiya’s successor.

Former Kenya Airports Police Unit Commandant Moses Ombati was moved from City Hall to Nairobi Area and named Deputy PPO. Mr Ombati will succeed Mr Julius Ndegwa who will now be based at Vigilance House as Director of Operations.
