My barbershop is located within a residential area and anyone familiar with the high rise flats synonimous with the eastern side part of Nairobi city knows exactly what I'm talking about. Daily dramas and hullabaloos never end and at times, I do try as much as possible to mind my own business, but most of the time I still find myself outside there getting entertained. The random fist fights, from the women tearing each other's eyes out to naughty children being whipped by a disgruntled neighbour for scratching their new car are a common sight.
So this particular morning, around 10am, I had just opened shop, done some cleaning here and there and was just chilling waiting for my first client of the day when suddenly, I noticed commotion outside. Women and children were running towards the same direction. I couldn't mind my business on this one, so and I dashed out to see what was going on. A large crowd had already gathered in front of an adjacent flat and as I moved closer I noticed Mama Njeri, the 'area reporter' addressing the crowd about what had just happened.
