Kenya Morans coach Liz Mills on Monday evening released her final squad that will represent the nation in the 2021 Fiba AfroBasket championship set to tip off on Tuesday.
The Australian tactician dropped two players from the initial 14 that travelled last Saturday to remain with 12 players tasked with getting Kenya past the group stages.
Shooting guard Faheem Juma and point guard Victor Bosire have been dropped as Mills retained an almost familiar face that played during the AfroBasket qualifiers in Cameroon earlier this year.
Kenya qualified after finishing behind five time AfroBasket champions Senegal and 11 times winners Angola in Group B
The team now has three point guards in Griffin Ligare, Joseph Khaemba and Derrick Ogechi.
Other players include Erick Mutoro (shooting guard), Albert Onyango (shooting guard), Tylor Ongwae (small forward), Valentine Nyakinda (small forward), Ariel Okal Koranga (power forward), Fidel Okoth (centre), Tom Bush Wamukota (centre), Desmond Owili (centre) and Ronnie Gundo (Power forward).
The 30th edition of the African basketball premier competition tips off at the Kigali Arena Tuesday with defending champions Tunisia taking on Guinea in the opening match.
Kenya in Group C will face off against Cote d'Ivoire on Wednesday before facing Nigeria on Friday. Their last Group C match will see them tackle Mali over the weekend on Sunday.
