Kenyan Basketball Federation Men and Women Premier Leagues will resume on Saturday, June 12 at the University of Nairobi grounds after three months out.
Eagle Wings will kick off the games with a match against UoN Dynamites in the first women’s fixture of the day set for 9am before Zetech University take on Storms at 10am.
African Nazarene will then face off with Kenyatta University Oryx from 12pm.
In the men’s league, Strathmore University will face Kenyatta University Pirates from 2pm as Equity Bank confronts Emyba from 4pm.
Defending men and women's champions Ulinzi and Equity Hawks will be in action on Sunday with the latter taking on Eagle Wings from 10.30 am before Ulinzi playing hosts University of Nairobi's Terrorists at 4pm.
KBF fixture secretary Joseph Amoko said the federation has introduced tough rules issued by the Ministry of Sports and Health.
“All teams will have to go undergo a mandatory Covid 19 testing. Teams and officials must then present the results before being allowed into the University of Nairobi grounds,” said Amoko.
“When the league resumes, we want to prioritize the safety of our players and officials. We, therefore, urge all clubs to cooperate.”
Amoko added that all teams will have to leave the match venue immediately after their game to allow the venue to be prepared for the next fixture, whose team members must have also been tested and a list presented well in advance.
The league was suspended on March 26.
