Gachagua's return: Murkomen downplays security fears

Gachagua announced he was cutting short his US visit to join his party in preparations for upcoming by-elections.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has dismissed growing security concerns over the return of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who is expected back in the country on Thursday after a six-week visit to the United States.

Speaking in Murang'a County during the ongoing Jukwaa la Usalama forum, Murkomen said Gachagua's arrival should not be a cause for alarm, insisting that security agencies were adequately prepared to respond to any disruptions.
