The Power of Mercy Advisory Committee (POMAC) is set to launch a new system that seeks to automate and manage the process of applying for and granting clemency to convicted offenders in Kenya.

The system, known as the Electronic Power of Mercy Petitions Management Information System (ePOMPMIS), aims to enhance transparency, accountability, participation, collaboration and feedback in the petition process.

The ePOMPMIS is fully operational and live, and can be accessed through epmis.powerofmercy.go.ke or the e-Citizen platform.

The services offered to the members of public include online petition application and real-time tracking of the progress of a petition.

The committee has planned an official launch of the live ePOMPMIS and a stakeholders training programme to be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Kamiti Maximum Security Prison.

The event will be graced by the Chief of Staff and the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei.

“The ePOMPMIS aims to enhance transparency, accountability, participation, collaboration and feedback in the petition process,” said Dr. Lydia Muriuki, the Secretary of POMAC in a statement on Tuesday, September 19.
