Two police officers arrested for hijacking, stealing Sh 700, 000 from university student

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Juja have arrested two police officers for allegedly hijacking and stealing from a university student.

The duo was arrested alongside a civilian in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and held at Juja Police Station.

Police say the victim, a third-year student at Machakos University, was driving from Machakos when he was blocked by three armed men at Kenyatta Road in Juja, Kiambu County.

An extract from the Occurrence Book at the police station states that the three assailants demanded directions to his friend’s house.

“They also handcuffed him and took them to Total Petrol Station in Marurui where they forced them to fuel their vehicle. They   transferred Sh 85,000 from Robbinson's phone another USD 4,300 from both complainants through Binance online transaction,”

The three suspects were arrested after the sleuths got a tip off that they were planning to attack another person.

The police managed to recover a firearm, a police pocket phone and detained a number of vehicles suspected to have been used in illegal activities pending investigation.
