President William Ruto reshuffles Principal Secretaries

President William Ruto has conducted portfolio re-assignments in the rank of Principal Secretaries.

Those affected are seven Principal Secretaries.

Esther Ngero who was PS Performance Management in the office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary has been reassigned to PS Correctional Services in the Ministry of Interior & National Administration.

PS Medical Services in the Ministry of Health Peter Tum has been reassigned to PS Sports in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Arts & Sports.

Jonathan Mueke who has been PS Sports in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, moves to the Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock Development as PS Livestock.

Ephantus Kimani who has been Forestry PS in the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry takes up the role of PS Irrigation in the Ministry of Water, Sanitation & Irrigation.

Harry Kimtai will now serve as PS Medical Services in the Ministry of Health. He moves from Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock Development where he was PS Livestock.

Gitonga Mugambi will be PS Forestry in the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry having been moved from the Ministry of Water, Sanitation & Irrigation where he was PS Irrigation.

Mary Muthoni Muriuki who was PS Correctional Services in the Ministry of Interior & National Administration has been reassigned to the Ministry of Health as PS Public Health & Professional Standards. The position had been occupied by Josephine Mburu who was fired by President Ruto on Monday.

"The Presidential action seeks to introduce functional changes that shall make the relevant State Departments better able to implement various state programmes under the Administration's transformative plan for the nation espoused as the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda," said Koskei.

The changes take effect immediately.

"The head of state has on recommendation of the public service commission nominated Faith Njeri Harrison for appointment as the Principal Secretary, State Department for Performance Management within Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary." Said Koskei.
