Former KANU Secretary-General, Nick Salat has told Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga to leave politics.

Salat, who was speaking in the company of President William Ruto in Bomet on Friday, April 28, said that Odinga's efforts to become Kenya's sixth president are futile.

"I was in Odinga's camp during the 2022 General Election and I can confidently say that Raila lost the election. Therefore, I urge him to resign from politics and allow the government to do its work," said Salat.

Last month, Salat ditched Azimio for Kenya Kwanza in what he termed as "a lack of direction and unity."

"I felt it is time to move and having taken my time to look through, I know UDA is the right party as it has a bright future,'' he said.

Salat was a huge force in Odinga's camp during the campaign and election season in 2022.

He was first suspended from KANU before resigning over complaints about his conduct and violation of the party's Constitution.
