We believe in President Ruto's governance, UN leadership clears the air

The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Amina Mohamed, has full confidence and respect for the leadership of President William Ruto, UN Information Center in Nairobi clears the air.

The declaration was in response to an alleged collection of leaked documents on Sunday, April 17. The documents alleged that the UN leadership had reservations about the Kenyan leadership.

A statement by Stephane Dujarric, the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General says the reporting was 'distorted and out-of-context'.

She adds that Amina Mohamed will be visiting Nairobi, Kenya, soon for a meeting with President William Ruto.

"The Deputy Secretary-General has full confidence and respect for the leadership of President William Ruto and looks forward to traveling to Nairobi later this month for a previously scheduled trip. She looks forward to meeting with the President of Kenya and the UN leadership,". Stephanie's statement reads in part.

"The distorted and out-of-context reporting of Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed's private conversations does not in any way reflect her views and opinions," she adds.

The spokesperson has also described Amina Mohamed as an 'unimpeachable, strong voice for Africa and its leadership on the international scene'.

The allegations made originated from documents shared on a public social platform dubbed Discord.
