Why taxpayers may lose millions in send-off package for Cherera team

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) may be forced to reconstitute just one year and three months after three commissioners were sworn-in, a move that may cost taxpayers millions of shillings.

Despite the resignation of IEBC Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera, and commissioners Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang'aya, they could still be paid their salaries for the remainder of their six-year term, if what happened to the previous commission, led by Issack Hassan, is anything to go by.
