Police are holding sixteen Ethiopian nationals found in a house in Matopeni area within Nairobi's Kayole estate on Saturday.

Confirming the incident to The Standard, Area police boss Paul Wambugu said it was a suspected case of human trafficking.

The 16 were held in a two-bedroomed house, without access to food.

The group disclosed to police that they had been in the country for some two months. They would be beaten upon asking for food, which prompted neighbours to alert authorities.

Wambugu did however not disclose where the aliens were headed.

They are currently being held at the Kayole Police Station in Nairobi, pending further investigations into their motive.
