Six hours to surrender: DCI issues fresh ultimatum to MP Didmus Barasa

Earlier on Thursday, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) officials in Bungoma County refused to hand over the election certificate to his agents after being declared winner in the Kimilili polls.

The MP, who vied on UDA ticket, was declared the winner by the electoral body on Thursday 11, August, after garnering 26,861 votes against DAP-K's Brian Khaemba's 9,497.

On Wednesday, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji ordered the police to arrest the UDA MP-elect. The 24-hour ultimatum given by police for the legislator to surrender elapsed on Thursday morning.
