No one can really understand the pain of a miscarriage like a mother. It’s heartbreaking when all your dreams of having a baby come tumbling down all at once. In such situations, everyone has their own way of coping but the pain never really goes away no matter how strong you are.

Many celebrities have gone through the sting of losing a child through a miscarriage and it’s hard to grieve in peace when you’re in the public eye.

A difficult subject many would rather deal with privately, talking about it helps one come to terms with the heart-breaking news.

Of those who have chosen to take this path are some brave celebrities who have opened up about coping after a miscarriage. Below are some lessons you can take from them and hopefully apply.

i. Nana Owiti and King Kaka

Nana has always been such a bubbly person. When you see the smiles through her pictures, you can’t imagine that she’s dealt with a lot of pain.

When she lost her baby, her first reaction was denial. She didn’t want to accept the news she had just received until it finally dawned on her what had happened.

After acceptance, healing begun. She also talked about the importance of seeking support as you heal. That’s what encouraged her to pick herself up and try again.

ii. Gabrielle Union

She had not one, not two, but nine miscarriages. The beautiful actress spent months trying over and over again to the point she sought IVF treatments so she could conceive.

At some point, she completely gave up on having a child and opted for a surrogate. She describes that experience of settling for a surrogate as ‘surrendering to failure.’ At the time, she was still getting backlash for going that route.

When her daughter was born, she stopped caring what people thought and embraced motherhood.

iii. Akothee

Akothee is a tough lady and she’s been through it all. She never shied away from talking about her struggles including the time she lost her twins some years ago.

She opened up on social media where she got a lot of support and some nasty comments as well from the usual haters. It’s sad to see that some people, including women, would be quick to bash another woman for something that wasn’t her fault.

Either way, she stayed strong and healed from the loss of her twins. The iron lady is now blessed with five beautiful children. Three daughters and two sons.

iv. Wendy Williams

Although she’s a bold, untouchable talk show host, Wendy rarely dives into her personal life in public. Still, she’s mentioned that she had three miscarriages before conceiving. When she had her one and only son, she immediately closed that chapter of having kids and focused on being the best mom she could be for her son.

Part of her healing journey was connecting with other women who’ve had a miscarriage through the radio show she had at the time.

v. Denise and Dj Crème de la Crème

The couple lost their daughter when she was already six months in. Like many excited parents, they were well prepared and ready to receive their little bundle of joy only to receive the devastating news that their daughter was no more.

At the time, Denise had to be brave on behalf of her husband because he was out of the country working while all this was happening. Being apart, the couple had to deal with the loss separately. However, Kenyans were quick to uplift and encourage the couple as messages flowed on their social media accounts as soon as the news broke.

They are blessed with two children, a boy and a girl.

vi. Eudoxie and Ludacris

Eudoxie embraced a positive attitude when she lost her child in 2018. It was a tough season for her but she’s always said that the one thing that helped her overcome her pain is God. She’s not afraid to say that praying and connecting with God gave her the strength to look forward to better days.

In truth, many women have experienced loss through miscarriages. What you do afterwards is what will determine the direction your life will take.

Borrowing from these celebrities, one has to come to terms with the loss and grief. At the appropriate time, it is wise to seek some guidance from a professional.

Remember, that this also affects other family members and they too should be involved in the grieving process.
