Uhuru, Ruto send condolence messages to family of Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi

Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto on Thursday sent their condolences to the family of Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi who died while attending training in Mumbai, India.

DP Ruto described the deceased as a dedicated servant who was loyal to the party.

“Saddened by the passing on of Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi (popularly known as Gearbox) while on training in Mumbai, India.

“He was dedicated servant to his people and the Jubilee Party,” wrote the DP.

Omondi, who was on an official trip with colleagues to India, was found dead in his hotel room Wednesday.

Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu said the ward rep is suspected to have suffered a heart attack.

Ndichu said the news of the sudden demise has shocked the assembly and residents of Kahawa Wendani because until his death, Omondi was not known to be sick.

“It is shocking and sad to lose him at a time we did not expect, this is a sad news for all of us.”

MCAs have expressed shock at the demise of their colleague describing him as a good and active man.

Theta MCA Simon Kuria said Omondi was a member of the Education Committee and was on a workshop trip to India.
