Detectives nab eight car theft suspects in Nairobi's Umoja Estate

The officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested eight car theft suspects after running an operation in Nairobi’s Umoja and Soweto estates.

In its statement issued on Tuesday morning, the DCI revealed that it managed to recover two vehicles believed to have been stolen in Lang’ata.

It stated: “Two Toyota Voxy M/Vs; KCS 757V & KCW 834A which had been stolen from Phenom Estate in Lang'ata were yesterday recovered by DCI following a rigorous operation at Umoja & Soweto areas. Eight suspects also arrested & a Toyota ALPHARD they have been using detained.”

“Mwenga Kariuki, Daniel Kabita, Paul Mwaura Karanja, Edward Musonye Ikatwa, Christine Mwongeli Munyao, Alex Kioko, Daniel Gisiri and Elphas Sula are a chain of suspects, each having a role during Thieveries. All in custody & investigations ongoing to break the entire chain,” the DCI stated while identifying the suspects.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned as soon as the sleuths have completed the investigations.
