Well packaged human waste – Presents to Mombasa MCAs on world Toilet day

Millions of people all around the world on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, celebrated the World Toilet Day.

A number of residents in Mombasa County took the opportunity to protest the lack of toilets in different parts of the county.

To make their move noticeable, the residents packaged human excreta and parceled it to the Mombasa County assembly offices.

Mr Salim Juma, the Mombasa County Clerk gladly received the package on behalf of the MCAs unaware of its contents.

One of the residents who took part in the peaceful demonstrations that preceded the presentation of the gift accused the MCAs of ignorance.

Residents who took part in the incident were later discovered to belong to the Rapid Response Team (RRT).

Their leader William Oduor said that the plot was meant to remind MCAs that they need to respect, protect and craft policies that observe human rights.

“We hope this will serve as a constant reminder to the MCAs on the need to respect, protect and craft policies that observe human rights,” said the leader.

The move prompted the county clerk to promise to take their grievances forth and table them to the county assembly.
