Teenager to remain in custody for one week over murder

A 19-year-old woman shall remain incarcerated at Kakamega Women’s Prison after she was charged with murdering a 14-year-old girl in a love triangle.

Prosecutions counsel Samson Ng’etich told the court that the probation officers are yet to file pre-bail report to establish if the accused was fit to be freed on bond terms.

Electine Musinzi was charged with murdering the Class Eight girl whom she alleged "snatched my boyfriend".

Musinzi, a candidate for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination is said to have murdered Angela Sitati Sinakha on June 22 at Lukose Village, Kakamega East sub-county.

Musinzi who has been in police custody since her arrest on June 24 denied the murder charges before Judge Jesse Njagi.

The case will be mentioned on July 31 as the probation office tables bail report.
