Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso back to the country after 46 days of treatment

After a month and a half of medical treatment in India and Britain, Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso came back to the country on Sunday, July 14.

Ureport has learned that Governor Laboso arrived around 9.00 AM and is still under medication.

Speaking at Deliverance Church in Mulot, Narok County on Sunday, Bomet deputy governor Dr. Hillary Barchok, who has been in charge of the county, said the Governor is yet to be released by doctors to resume her duties.

He urged residents and the country at large to pray for her and noted that she had responded well to medication.

“The Governor arrived in the country this morning and would be continuing with treatment. She needs our prayers and support,” said Barchok as quoted by a local daily.

The Governor’s ailment has remained undisclosed. Her deputy Dr.Barchok during a prayer function organized last month in the county urged the nation to respect her privacy.

“The state of her health is strictly a family affair; we cannot purport to speak for them. She should be given the support she needs, and we should not intrude into their privacy,” he said.

On May 29, Governor Laboso left the country to Britain for medication. She was admitted at Royal Madden NHS hospital where she underwent treatment for nearly a month.

She was transferred to India for further treatment three weeks ago.

While in London, NASA leader Raila Odinga and Ambassador Manoah Espisu, Chief Justice David Maraga and Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony visited her.

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto also visited her.

She is currently under the doctor’s watch until she is deemed fit to resume her duties.
