The girl who disappeared from St Stevens Girls High School in Machakos County has resurfaced at their Kawangware home, days after her search led to the attack on KTN journalists.

The girl appeared at their home on Wednesday morning after disappearing for the last one month.

Her mother, Ms Mary Mukami could not hide her joy after a 30-day wait despite the fact that her daughter could not explain her whereabouts for all those days.

The minor went missing after being sent home over school fee arrears.

In an exclusive interview with KTN News at their Kawangware home, the minor said she only remember buying water at Makutano junction on her way home.

Shet said a woman she met in town gave her Sh50 for bus fare to their home.

“I met a woman in town who gave me Sh50 that I used to come home,” said the minor.

Two KTN journalists were attacked and injured by students at St Stevens Girls High School while pursuing a story on how the student disappeared.

Carolyne Bii, cameraman Boniface Magana and their driver Immaculate Joseph were stoned by the enraged students after being incited by the school principal.

The students also torched the car the three used to the school. The incident led to the closure of the school.
