Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday arrested four suspects captured in a viral video assaulting a man reported to be a student.

According to DCI, the four were arrested after being seen assaulting the man mercilessly in the video that was widely shared on social media.

“The DCI takes this opportunity to assure the public that the matter will be investigated to its logical conclusion,” DCI posted on its official twitter handle.

The suspects arrested include Robert Momanyi, Collins Neriko, Stanley Rimbere and Stephen Kimeu.

The four were nabbed after the victim, one Kevin Mango, reported the incident to the police on Saturday morning.

Mango, a college student, was reportedly invited to a house in Nairobi’s Kilimani area for drinks by a former MP aspirant before being clobbered by the suspects.

He managed to escape from his floggers numbering seven at around 4am and reported the matter.

Detectives are pursuing three other suspects who were also part of the group after they got wind of the arrests and went into hiding.

The suspects will be arraigned in court on Monday.
