Governor Paul Chepkwony has reshuffled his cabinet months after cracking the whip on four accounting officers.

In his first changes since retaining the seat, Prof Chepkwony moved Patrick Mutai from the county Treasury to be the county executive committee member in the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport.

Dr Mutai is one of the executives who was retained by the governor after his re-election in the August 2017 polls. Mutai has swapped places with Charles Birech - also a long-serving executive.

Also moved in the mini-reshuffle were Hellen Chepkwony and Edna Ruto who swapped places in the departments of Public Service Management and that of Youth Affairs, E-government and Sports.

In a memo seen by Saturday Standard, the governor said the changes aimed at improving efficiency in service delivery.

“In the exercise of my constitutional prerogative and to promote service delivery and enhance efficient and effectiveness in the county government, I deemed it necessary to reorganise the county executive committee members,” Chepkwony said in a statement.
