A form four student committed suicide in Goseta village Trans-Nzoia County after he allegedly differed with his parents.

Edward Abebo, 20, a student at Taito Secondary School in Cherangany Constituency dosed himself with petrol at his parent’s home.

Abebo was to re-seat for Kenya Certificate for Secondary Examination (KCSE) for the third time hoping to secure a good grade that will enable him join a university.

He scored D plus in the first attempt before he posted C plain in the second sitting.

A neighbour, Vickford Bundi, told The Standard that the student had differed with his parents before he killed himself.

"The boy was determined to join university but we were shocked when he took his own life after he reportedly disagreed with his parents,’’ Bundi said.

The incident brings to two the number of students who have committed suicide in the village within two months.
