Queen Elizabeth II has received Kenya's High Commissioner to the UK, Manoah Esipisu, at the Buckingham Palace, London

Today The Queen received His Excellency Mr. Manoah Esipisu, High Commissioner for the Republic of Kenya in London.

During the Tuesday Audience, Mr Esipisu presented Her Majesty with the introduction letters by which President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed him High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

Mr Esipisu also thanked the Queen for her enduring friendship with Kenya.

The Queen has a very personal relationship with Kenya.

However, the meeting elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans; while some lauded him with congratulations, others, who are probably in the dark about royal etiquette and the attendant pomp and circumstance, took a dim view of his dress code, specifically the tailcoat. 

Congratulations Balozi. Remember to market Kenyan teas, coffee, flowers and tourist attractions. Simply focus your diplomacy in commerce.

The Queen also met with several other envoys and High Commissioners including, Aleksandra Joksimovic, Ambassador from the Republic of Serbia and Kim Beazley, Governor of Western Australia.
