Kabras, KCB face off in tough duel

The sugar millers have made two changes from the squad that started against Homeboyz last weekend.

Kabras Sugar’s unbeaten run in the 2018-19 Kenya Cup will be put on the line when they face defending champions KCB in a top-of-the table clash at the Impala Club today.

The round-11 tie, scheduled to get underway at 4pm, will see Kabras come up against a side they have never beaten since their promotion to the top-tier in 2014.

The two sides, which are separated by five points on the standings, have faced off eight times in the Kenya Cup with KCB boasting of a superior head-to-head record.The bankers have won seven of those matches, while one fixture ended in a draw.

From the side that started against Homeboyz last Saturday, Kabras coach Henly Du Plessis has tweaked his front-row, introducing Ephraim Oduor and Brian Juma. The pair replaces Hosea Ngesa and Charlton Mokua, who was dropped to the bench.

The match will be preceded by an early kickoff between Impala and Homeboyz at 2pm. Both sides lost on day 10 match and will be keen to bounce back.

Elsewhere, Nondescripts will be seeking to stretch their winning streak when they host Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad at the Jamhuri showgrounds.

Ahead of the contest, Nondies coach Willis Ojal has urged his charges to improve on their discipline after having two men sinbinned in their last outing against Strathmore Leos.

“Having two men sent off as was the case against Strathmore is unacceptable.Our defence also needs some improvement since we conceded cheap tries,” Ojal said.

Other matches will see Mean Machine host fellow newcomers Menengai Oilers at the University of Nairobi grounds.
