Technician nabbed defiling Form three student charged with defilement

A technician aged 26 years was on Friday charged in a Kakamega court for defiling a minor, 16, whom he lured with ripe mangoes.

The victim is 16 years old.

Joseph Bushuru was alleged to have defiled CA on January 19 at their Nyayo Tea Zone Estate, Mahiakholo Village in Lurambi Sub-County.

According to court documents, the girl who is a form three student at a local primary school is said to have started a relationship with the accused after being promised a mobile phone and eventually marriage.

On January 19, Bushuru is said to have passed by the complainant’s home and asked her to come to his house saying he had something for her.

The complainant who lives with her father and two siblings after the death of their mother sneaked out of their house at 8.30pm.

While in the house, the accused is said to have produced two mangoes which they ate with CA.

After they were done, the accused is said to have defiled the girl before releasing her with a plea not to disclose to anyone what had transpired.

According to CA, the accused had corrupted the mind of her brother whom he used to give some little handouts in form of cash so he would not tell the father about the relationship.

Bushuru was arrested on January 21 in his house with the minor after luring her to his house for the second time.

The complainant’s father who had become suspicious of his daughter is said to have trailed her and established that she entered Bushuru’s house while holding a book in her hand ostensibly to appear like she had gone for studies.

The father is said to have mobilised some few neighbours and headed to the house where they got the girl.

Tests at Kakamega County General Hospital confirmed that indeed the girl had been defiled and she was put on medication.

Bushuru denied the charges when he appeared before Kakamega Senior Resident Magistrate Josephine Maragia who granted him Sh200,000 bond with a surety of the same amount.

The matter shall be mentioned on February 7 to fix a hearing date.
