Police in Kolongolo area in Trans-Nzoia County have  arrested a 38 year old woman who allegedly killed her husband after a quarrel on Friday last week.

Endebess OCPD Mr. Shadrack Rutto said they are holding Naliaka over the death of Wekhungu.

The couple allegedly differed  after their daughter arrived home late.

The deceased had demanded answers from the daughter why she attended a ceremony in the neighborhood in which Naliaka interjected.

A scuffle then ensued before Naliaka walked out of the house and picked a hoe and hit her husband.

The deceased was rushed to Kolongolo Catholic Mission Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

His condition however worsened the next morning and was rushed to Mt Elgon hospital Kitale where he was pronounced death on arrival.

"The information we have is that the man differed with his wife after their daughter arrived home late.  The man was treated at a local facility but later died on his way to Mt Elgon Hospital," said Kutto.

Kutto said the area assistant chief helped to arrest the suspect who is assisting police with investigations.

"The suspect has been arrested and is helping us with investigations. We will arraign in court once the probe is complete,’’ said Rutto.
