Six lies you should never tell yourself if you want to be successful

Living

We all make excuses and tell ourselves lies to avoid success. We do that to avoid new challenges, the blood, the sweat, and the tears. It is really taking the easy way out but that is denying us the chance of fame and power.

“When we deny our own truth, we deny our own potential,” says radio commentator, motivational speaker Steve Maraboli.

Below are six lies that act as barriers to achievement and fulfilment.

1. I’ll start tomorrow

This has to be the biggest lie people tell themselves. We often postpone just to avoid the struggle of doing it. Being successful is not a matter of overnight event.

It takes time and a step after the other. In other words, quit procrastinating! Time is of the essence to your financial success. Remember, we all have time but it all boils down to how we prioritize it.

2. I don’t know where to start

You don’t have to have it all figured out. When you think you have to start at the beginning, you assume you know where the beginning is.

But that’s not the way your brain works. When you have hope, optimism and a positive outlook, you can achieve anything. Just focus on what you what to start and start from somewhere.

3. I’m too old/Young

Until you’re in the ground you still have time to be successful. You’re never too old to learn. Don’t give up on your dreams of financial freedom just because you’re not in your early 20s anymore.

Neither don’t give up because you think you are too young. As long as have you a working mind you are good to go.

4. I must wait for the right moment

You think that there will be the perfect niche and you will know when to pounce on it to make it into a roaring success. You just have to wait until the time is right and you keep putting things off.

That’s how we distance ourselves from success.  Like Napoleon Hill once said; “Procrastination is the bad habit of putting off until the day after tomorrow what should have been done the day before yesterday.”

5. I’ve Never Done It Before

Well, it might be true that it is your first time. However, it shouldn’t be the reason you avoid making life changes. If you’ve never done it before, the only thing that’s going to happen when you do it is, you’ll learn how to do it. Remember that the only thing standing in the way of your success is you.

6. I don’t have enough money

If something means something to you, you will find a way regardless of what obstacles stand in your way. You don’t need money to become a millionaire or to actually make enough to have financial freedom. Start with what you have and build on it.

There will be the aspect of growth so be patient and go for it. Successful people trust themselves, the universe, and they decide on a first step.
