Japheth Kilelu Shako is the latest millionaire in town following a successful multi-bet he placed on gaming firm Betika last week.

The 36-year old man used Sh100 to correctly predict matches on the platform and in return earned a whopping Sh1,266,385.79 — money he says will greatly change his life.

“I’ll sit down and think about what I want to do with the money, but I’m sure my life will never be the same again.  Starting a business and building a house are top of my priorities though,” he told Let’s Bet.

The SGR employee, based at Mai Mahiu, says he has been betting for long but had never won such a huge amount. And as result, he says he will continue betting even as he works with the railway construction firm.

“I think I’ve placed bets for sometime now, say two years, but I’ve never been lucky to win notable amount. This is the highest win on my betslip, so far, and I hope to scoop more,” the father of two said.

On the same day, another young man, Peter Mugo Muthoni, also emerged the winner on Betika. He placed a multi-bet using Sh55 and won a mindboggling Sh856,143.

Mugo, 30, has been placing bets for almost three years, but just like Shako, he says this was the highest amount he has pocketed from betting. As a mason-working in Naivasha, and a father of one, he believes the money will boost his financial muscle to become a more responsible husband and dad.

“I’m not new in betting, but what makes me happy is the fact that I jumped from winning a paltry Sh3,400 (was his highest before he won the recent multi-bet) to Sh856, 000 (exact figure is Sh856, 143.48). This money will transform my life,” he told Let’s Bet.
