Governor calls for disbursement of condoms across Kisii

Kisii Governor James Ongwae has ordered Health Officers to ensure that they have supplied condoms across the County.

Ongwae says, HIV/Aids is an epidemic that should be fought with seal.

Speaking today during the launch of drugs and medical equipment worthy Sh100 million at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, Ongwae said Kenyans should not shy away from speaking on HIV/Aids.

"Aids has caused family break ups and existence of several orphans. If we don't talk about it we will end losing an entire generation. The figures are high and it is fair that we talk about," said Governor Ongwae.

He maintained that part of the consignment disbursed include condoms which will be dispatched to all Health centers in the County.

"Let them go down to the community. This is not a laughing matter but an issue that requires team work among stakeholders," he said.

Kisii is among the counties ranked with high HIV/Aids prevalence rates.
