Man shot dead in bandit attack

One person was shot dead on Thursday night at the border between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot in a new wave of violence. Kirotich Kitum 47, was killed at Changoros village after armed raiders suspected to be from a neighbouring county opened fire on his home.

Three people have been killed this week in attacks said to be carried out by bandits operating from Embobut forest. "These attacks are no longer driven by livestock theft," said Embobut MCA Paul Kipyatich.
