Club licencing is here again and Kenyan Premier League teams have until June 30 to comply.

KPL announced yesterday that clubs that would score less than 50 per cent in the licencing process would be relegated to the lower league.

KPL said the clubs would be assessed on five criteria - administration, infrastructure, finance, legal, and sporting.

“Clubs which will score less than 50 per cent during the process will be relegated to a lower division, while those who will score between 50 per cent and 69 per cent will be issued with a provisional licence. Clubs scoring 70 per cent and above will be issued with a full licence,” said the KPL in a statement.

The league said the process, to be handled by Football Kenya Federation, would be done in a free and fair manner by an independent body.

The First Instance Body is made up of Edwin Wamukoya, Lilian Nzile, Paul Makumi, Paul Ochieng, and Peter Karanja.

“Clubs are urged to offer full co-operation to the body and uphold high levels of integrity during the process.”
