Changes affected 48 officers in Administration Police, 12 in Kenya Police

The changes affected 48 officers in the Administration Police and 12 in Kenya Police. Those affected are officers of the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SS), Commissioner of Police (CP) and Assistant Inspector of Police (AIG).

Sixty senior police officers were Wednesday moved in changes aimed at enhancing operations in the service.

The changes affected 48 officers in the Administration Police and 12 in Kenya Police. Those affected are officers of the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SS), Commissioner of Police (CP) and Assistant Inspector of Police (AIG).

The officers include Nairobi head of AP Francis Mburu who moves to headquarters. Mburu has been replaced by John Murage. Garissa head of AP Rashid Yakub too was moved to police headquarters. The new police commander of Muranga County is Abdi Fara.

Nyanza AP boss Joseph Keitany was moved to Nairobi and named the head of the Security of Government Buildings. Keitany was replaced by Ezekiel Gitiba who has been the deputy Commandant of Administration Police Training College, Embakasi.

The commandant of Rural Border Patrol School Nguyo Wambua was moved to Western as the regional commander.

“The changes are aimed at filling positions left vacant by retiring officers and also to enhance operations in the service at large,” said a senior officer aware of the movements.

More changes are expected to be named next week after a meeting of the National Police Service Commission. These will see many moved especially in the DCI.
