Opinion: Should Muluka continue as ANC secretary general after ruling?

ANC secretary general Barrack Muluka

I feel Barack Muluka should stay on as the Secretary General  of Amani National congress (ANC) rather than Geoffrey Osotsi who is disloyal, disrespectful and ungrateful to the party.

Kenya knows that ANC is at a critical turning point in merging with like-minded partners like Ford-Kenya and having a loyal steward as secretary general at the moment is important.

Remember that Osotsi wrote a resignation letter to the effect that he would relinquish the post after being nominated to parliament. What has changed that he now wants to be in ANC when he is a known as an ODM sympathizer?

Members of parliament from Western and Rift valley had earlier wanted Mr. Osotsi expelled from the party for disrespecting the party leader. He might have won at the political parties’ tribunal, but we are working on ways of appealing the decision because the tribunal ignored glaring evidence laid before it by loyal ANC party members and officials who feel the MP is not up to any good for the party.

We have a trusted lieutenant in Muluka who we won’t let go unless we want the party wrecked from within.

As matters stand Mr. Osotsi can’t even convene a party meeting because none, if any, trusts him in the party. I urge Mr. Muluka to stay put because ANC members’ leadership is comfortable with him.

No party wants an official who can sell the party to the highest bidder while members watch. Not the reenergized ANC.
