Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa has given an assurance to Kenyans and soccer lovers that the body is committed to keeping Harambee Stars coach Paul put, adding that they have lined up impressive blueprints with him.

While speaking to a local TV station Y254, Mwendwa conceded that he was unaware of rumours linking the Belgian tactician to taking up the vacant job as Guinea’s head coach.

A report by sports portal Mchezoafrika has revealed that FKF have prioritized that Put achieves all the plans ahead of him after the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup triumph.

“I am not aware of [Paul Put] going to Guinea what I can tell you is we have a two year contract, it is a two year contract. Of course I cannot tell you that we will stop him from going, we would like him to stay because we have an interesting project.” Said Mwendwa.

“He has not said to us or to me that he wants to leave if anything we have done very deep programs for the next two years planning to make sure we can get the Cup of Nations and so my submission is we have a good coach.” He added as revealed by Mchezoafrika.

Guinea fired their coach Kanfory Bangoura, paying the price after losing to Morocco at the CAF 2018 African Nations Cup tournament.

Guinea Football Association is said to be in search of new coach who will turn things around at the helm. Paul Put has therefore been touted as one of the possible targets as the West African side looks for someone with incredible record.

After having guided Burkina Faso to the African Cup of Nations Final against where they finished as runners up in 2013, Put is seen as one who is familiar with West African football.

The Belgian has already won CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup with Kenya and has a contract running to 2019.
