Angry PSG fans turn on Neymar with boos despite scoring four past Dijon

Neymar scored four goals as Paris Saint-Germain swept aside Dijon 8-0 in Ligue 1 on Wednesday night, yet the Brazilian still found himself booed by the Parc des Princes crowd.

Angel Di Maria, Edison Cavani and Kylian Mbappe also all found the back of the net as the Les Parisiens extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1.

PSG's world record signing was subjected to jeers as he stepped up to take a penalty in the 83rd minute, with the score at 7-0 and having already scored a hat-trick.

Just moments prior to the spot kick, the home fans were chanting "Cavani Cavani" as the Uruguayan is one goal away from becoming PSG's all-time top scorer. Cavani is joint with Zlatan Ibrahimovi? on 156 goals.

It's not the first time Neymar has made headlines regarding a penalty incident with his PSG strike partner. Back in September, during PSG's 2-0 win over Lyon, Neymar and Cavani clashed over who should be taking set-pieces and argued over a penalty and a free-kick.

There were reports the 25-year-old left the stadium unhappy, however, fellow countryman Thiago Silva waved away those notions.

"No, I do not think he was angry when he left," Silva told Canal+.

"There was some of the supporters against him, but the most important thing is the final score and the win.

"And for Edi, the record will come. He scores all the time, there are still a lot of games to play this year, he will beat all records."

The four goals take Neymar's tally to 24 for the season while Cavani's registered 26 goals
