Tennis icon Novak Djokovic has been drawn into a controversial allegation linking him with mobilizing fellow tennis players in demand for more money at the Australian open 2018.

The Serbian is alleged to be dissatisfied by the status quo at the tournament especially with regards to how the players are awarded. This is said to have pushed him to embark on a mobilization path, where rallied tennis players to form a union that will address their compensation issues at the tournament.

According to the British media, Daily Mail, the player and his coach have declined to comment on the matter. While being interviewed by Fairfax Media, Djokovic replied that he has “no comment” on the issue. His coach Andre Agassi responded by saying that such a quest is “none of his business.”

Djokovic is said to have begun the quest at the annual player meeting in Melbourne. However, the demands of the six-time Australian Open Champion may have been met already.

The director of the tournament Craig Tiley announced an increase on the prize money allocated for the tournament from $60M to $109M just within hours prior to the allegations.

Australian Open tournament is on-going and the Serbian is expected to play against American tennis star Donald Young today.
